LarkXR 3D XR Rendering Engine
Paraverse’s dedication to continually improve rendering capabilities in interactive and immersive 3D XR experiences. LarkXR, our proprietary Real time Cloud Rendering Solution, has led to significant enhancements, from the standalone transmission library XLong for cloud VR scenarios to real-time Image Quality Analysis (IQA) based on CUDA. These advancements set a new standard for XR scenarios, addressing unique challenges and optimizing the real-time cloud rendering process for seamless digital experiences.

XLong Elevating Digital Immersion
Cloud VR requires greater bitrates and lower latency than real-time cloud rendering. Paraverse developed XLong, a cloud VR-optimized transmission control system, to address these issues. This framework connects rendering, encoding, and networking at transmission control for global decision-making. It optimizes intra-frame and inter-frame transmission delays, making LarkXR more adaptable to cloud VR.

Optimizing Rendering Workflow
Cloud rendering solution often struggle with dynamically allocating video encoder bitrate due to frame-based output granularity. This can lead to overshoot or undershoot issues, causing delays and inaccurate bandwidth detection. LarkXR has developed an integrated monitoring mechanism for video encoding, speed control queues, transmission control, and bandwidth estimation, enabling better target optimization.

Maximizing GPU Efficiency
The graphics engine and video encoding/decoding engine of the GPU are responsible for the majority of 3D application rendering and encoding/decoding operations. However, the CUDA computing engine is underutilized, resulting in waste of resources. Simultaneously, the real-time needs of cloud rendering products are quite high, making it difficult to assess the impact of video encoding in real time.
LarkXR makes full use of the unused CUDA processing resources and completes the quality analysis of video encoding images on the GPU without relying on CPU computational capacity. This enables users to assess the current image quality in real time, significantly improving LarkXR’s usability. It also provides a solid foundation for further refining the transmission control function using Bitrate Ladder.
