LarkXR Universal VR Client
One App Powers All Headsets with Hand Gesture & Controller Modes
LarkXR Universal VR Streaming Client is now available—a Single Client App that delivers cloud-streamed VR applications across Meta Quest, PICO, Play for Dream, and other OpenXR-compliant standalone headsets. Previously, system differences across VR brands required dedicated apps with separate versions and installation processes, creating real barriers for developers and teams.
Universal Deployment Breakthrough
Paraverse has bridged the underlying systems of mainstream VR devices like Quest, PICO and Play for Dream, delivering an intuitive universal VR streaming client. Developers now deploy one single client app for unified installation and management across major standalone VR headsets—eliminating multi-app hassles, accelerating enterprise project delivery, and simplifying mixed-device scaling.
Dual Interaction: Hand Gesture + Controller
LarkXR builds on proven controller operation with a new hand gesture operation module. This reduces developers’ adaptation costs while providing end users with richer interaction choices, perfecting the cloud VR experience.
Update Highlights
1. Universal VR Streaming Client App Compatibility

- Built on the OpenXR protocol and rigorously tested with Quest, PICO, and Play for Dream headsets.
- Supports all devices using standard OpenXR interfaces and Runtime environments.
- Dramatically enhances LarkXR’s overall system universality and ease of integration for developers.
2. Hand Gesture Operation Support
- Loads XR_EXT_hand_tracking OpenXR extension; dynamically detects gesture vs. controller input.
- Gesture Guide: Thumb and index finger pinch confirms selections (single pinch) or enters cloud apps (double quick pinch). A pinch and circle motion returns to the main menu.
- Smart Fallback: When cloud apps lack gesture extension support, LarkXR simulates hand data as controller input (pinch = trigger press).
- Note: Unreal Engine developers can use the open-source FSOpenXRHandTracking plugin to access hand pose data.
